One Night Only: Temporary Hair Styles To Remember Forever

There is a lot of preparation in the months leading up to a big event – whether it’s prom, a wedding, or a milestone anniversary. Outfits have to be chosen and carefully accessorized, your makeup is selected, and the techniques are perfected, but then you have to decide what you’re going to do with your hair. It’s a tough decision at the best of times, but on special occasions you want to make a memorable impressions – preferably a good one. If you want to make a big impact, but you don’t want to deal with any long-term consequences, here are a few temporary hairstyles that everyone will remember forever.

Non-permanent color

Dyeing your hair a different color will definitely turn heads, and it’s always good to try something new with the changing seasons – most people go from sun-kissed blonde to dazzling brunette when summer ends. That said, it is a long-term commitment, and you might not necessarily want the color change to be permanent. Fortunately, you can use temporary hair dye and wash out the color the following day; no fuss. You can even add some subtle, temporary highlights if you don’t want a full color change.

Hair today…

Women who have never waited years to grow luxuriously long hair know nothing about patience. If you’ve been impatiently waiting for your hair to grow for longer than you care to admit, now you can cheat for a day with tape in hair extensions, which are cheaper and less time consuming than getting a weave. For one night, you can get a glimpse of what your hair will look like when it’s finally at your dream length. There are extensions to suit every color, and style of hair, so all you have to do is style it the way you want. On the other hand, what’s the point in having long hair for a night if you’re not going to let it flow free? Your one night with long silky locks might inspire you to keep growing, or maybe you’ll try a new look and keep using your trusty extensions for future occasions.

Gone tomorrow

Getting your hair cut short might look nice in beauty magazines, but it might not necessarily look good on you; at least that’s what most women tell themselves when they’re considering a shorter hairstyle. There are times when short hair would complete the look you’re going for, but much like dyeing your hair, this is a pretty long-term commitment that not many women want to try. If you decide you don’t like it, there is no quick fix for this decision. Fortunately, there is a way you can have short hair for a night without trimming a single hair. The faux bob is an easy way to style your hair short, and no scissors need to get involved. At most, you’ll only need to search the house for every hair pin you own. Lock it down with lots of hairspray, and see if you’d be happy to make it permanent.
